We slipped into building web sites by accident. After completing a web design course way, way back in the 1990s, we built our first web site. Then Robert Zarywacz’s neighbours, who published an international travel magazine, asked if we could build a web site for them. So we did.

Then they asked if we could add a facility to sell magazine subscriptions online – back in the 1990s without the shopping cart and card payment infrastructure available today. Simon Zarywacz developed the order forms from scratch and added PGP encryption for credit card details and soon online subscriptions flooded in.

Over the years we’ve worked with html, Dreamweaver, Drupal, WordPress and other content management systems to build and maintain web sites.

What technology works best? In our view, it’s the one that does what you want most efficiently. If a one-page web works delivers everything your business needs, that’s fine with us. We always keep your needs and objectives in mind and don’t get overawed by the technology. 

Web site writing that informs and sells

Our main focus is on the action that you want your web site visitors to take. This could be to phone or email you, visit your premises, book for an event or make an online purchase. The purpose of your web site is to persuade them to take this action.

We believe your web site content and the messages it delivers are key to persuading customers to take action. If buyers don’t understand your web site or can’t find what they’re looking for easily, they won’t buy – however stylish it looks.

We believe many businesses miss out on sales because of poor writing and by not including basic information buyers require.

Many businesses spend a lot of time and money developing their web sites, then leave them untouched. In our fast-moving world, change is a constant. Contact details, prices, products and other information can soon become obsolete.

If it annoys you when you visit a web site and find out-of-date information that does not help, think what your customers feel if they visited your site and experienced this.
