What events are important in your sector?
Is it Christmas or the summer? Are there industry events such as exhibitions?
Map out events for the next year and build them into your PR schedule so that you don’t miss any opportunities.
Remember that publications such as monthly magazines will set their deadlines two or more months in advance of publishing to so your calendar must show events months in advance so you have time to prepare your press release, photographs and whatever other material you want to distribute.
Are there national or international days you can celebrate with an event? Is there a local festival your business can participate in?

Great photo. I love pictures of the sea. This one captures movement and drama.
Thanks, Francene. I took it by placing my camera right down by they sea and waiting for a wave to approach. Had to lift it very fast to avoid getting it soaked.
Good idea. I am about to start my PR for my book ‘Daring To be Grey’ and will need to keep track of many dates, names and times etc. I will get a calendar especially for this 🙂
I’m so glad this has been useful, Kama. I am going thin on top and greying but will not be seduced by dyes or other gimmicks.
Thank you for this post – reminds me to set deliberate intentions also for the long run! I love the picture too…
With love
Nicole
