Is social media a hero or a villain? Opinions differ widely, but it is a powerful tool that needs careful management.
How you use social media determines whether it improves or diminishes your good reputation.
We were early adopters of social media and understand its complexities. Our approach is to focus on the social side, building relationships with audiences and interacting with users.
If you’re looking for someone to churn out hundreds of spam posts, that won’t be us.
We also believe social media is a long-term activity requiring persistent effort to build a strong following.
How can we help?
Setting up social media accounts and profiles
If you want to create a presence for your business on a social media channel, we can set this up for you. Different services require different approaches. Instagram, for example, requires a visual approach, while many users find that text-only posts work more successfully on LinkedIn.
Audiences differ between services too. LinkedIn is very much a professional, business-like environment, while networks such as Twitter and Facebook have a wider spread of users, ranging from business to personal and reflecting different age groups.
We start with your business objectives to determine which networks will be most suitable. We set up your profiles, create profile and background images for each network and can train and advise you on using each network.
Currently, we work with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Content creation
Social media networks thrive on original content. Our approach is to produce good-quality content rather than pump out repetitive posts that bore users and turn them away. We believe this is a more productive approach, even if it is more challenging.
We understand the technical differences between networks, such as limited post lengths on Twitter, the absence of hashtags on Facebook and facilities such as communities and groups on LinkedIn and Facebook. These differences require a message you want to be communicated in posts tailored specifically to each network.
Advice and guidance
Some people have been tempted to close down their web sites and move their entire online presence to social media channels.
The danger of this is that lose control of your material and risk losing it. Do you remember Friends Reunited, Vine and Google+? – These services once had millions of users but have now either disappeared or are in limbo. If you base your whole presence on a third-part service, you might have to start from scratch if it disappears. We recommend retaining a web site, even if it’s a static one-page site – it remains yours and ensures people always be able to find you online.
